Hello and a big welcome to the forum, I'm so sorry that you have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I know what you mean about long drawn out medical tests, I think just about everyone has to go through that before they are actually told what is wrong with them. In some ways (for me anyway) it is a big relief to actually give your condition a name and to know it is not life threatening.

It is difficult to generalise with fibromyalgia everyone seems to suffer different combinations of symptoms and as far as medication goes what helps one will be useless for another. Hopefully you have got a good understanding doctor and lots of support at home eventually you will find you are able to cope with the symptoms and learn what medication and lifestyle changes work for you.

One big problem is sleep deprivation and if you suffer from this you can download a booklet from our main website.

Try and remain positive is about the best advice I can give and be patient while your doctor helps you find the right treatment that works.

All the best.

Knowing what is wrong with you is half the battle, at least now you can look forward knowing what you have got and work towards managing your condition.
